The Stand-Up Project Recognised in Federal Government Anti-Bullying Review

We’re incredibly proud to share that The Stand-Up Project (SUP) has been formally recognised by the Australian Federal Government’s Rapid Review into Bullying Prevention.

The Anti-Bullying Rapid Review is a landmark national report that aims to reshape how schools across Australia prevent and respond to bullying and other harmful behaviours. It marks one of the most significant shifts in education policy and student wellbeing in decades.

Recognition of SUP’s Impact

The Review highlights The Stand-Up Project’s innovative, student-led approach to bullying prevention, acknowledging the program’s success in empowering students, teachers, and parents to strengthen student voice, leadership, and agency in creating safer and more connected school communities.

Education Ministers from every state and territory have endorsed the Review’s recommendations and agreed to develop a new National Plan to address bullying in Australian schools, backed by $10 million in Federal Government funding to support its early implementation.

Why This Matters

This recognition reinforces that SUP’s whole-school, in-person model, which positions students as key stakeholders in driving cultural change, is both evidence-based and highly effective. By focusing on empathy, leadership, and Upstander behaviour, the program is helping students not just prevent bullying but also build lasting skills for life.

Through interactive anti-bullying workshops, student leadership training, and school-wide wellbeing initiatives, SUP continues to show that empowering students is one of the most powerful ways to reduce bullying, improve school culture, and support mental health and wellbeing.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to continue working with schools, governments, and research partners to bring the Review’s recommendations to life—helping build safer, kinder, and more inclusive learning communities across Australia.
