The Stand-Up Project is thrilled to be an approved evidence-based provider within the Victoria State Government’s Schools Mental Health Menu!
In November 2022, the Victorian government made a significant investment of $217.8 million over four years to enhance student mental health and wellbeing, which includes $200 million over four years and $87 million ongoing to support the Schools Mental Health Fund. As part of this initiative, every government school in Victoria will receive funds to engage with approved providers like The Stand-Up Project.
This funding stems from Recommendation 17 of the 2021 Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System, which acknowledged the critical role schools play in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of students. The Schools Mental Health Fund was created in response, with a focus on promoting positive mental health and adopting whole-school approaches. The Fund is supported by an evidence-based menu of approved programs.
The Stand-Up Project is proud to have been rigorously assessed and recognised as a provider that meets the high standards of this menu. Our whole school program was evaluated against criteria such as:
Proven effectiveness in supporting student mental health and wellbeing
Alignment with the department’s key priorities
Ease of implementation for schools
Availability of program facilitators
Cost-effectiveness for schools
We are thrilled to bring our whole-school approach to bullying prevention and Upstander strategies to schools across Victoria, empowering students to create positive school environments.
